There is an old adage that achieving success is the easy part. Keeping it is another story. Over the years, alongside building a professional career path, I had to build an individual path as well. I was always fascinated by the those who achieved work-life balance, who seemed to have a fulfilled life that provided enough for themselves and their families, without sacrificing their dreams and passions. Even if they had these elements, it was a laborious task to continually have all of these moving parts constantly in communication. The global pandemic, with all the misfortune it caused, gave me the benefit of time to explore this idea. I would be my own case study, formalizing the concepts and ideas I would often advise friends on. Equally inspired by Bill Perkin’s book Die With Zero, I set out to create an optimal integrated financial picture for my family assets, while seeking out the real rate of returns I was most interested in… life.
